Bhopal: ADJ RK Srivas, on second day of his picketing, said over 90 per cent judges were supporting him. They could not come out openly in his support but morally they were supporting him, he said, adding that most judges were victims of harassment. They were getting only 25 per cent salary for duty and 75 per cent to tolerate harassment, he added.
MP Judges’ Association has denied that ADJ RK Srivas solicited any support from the association. It was second day of protest of Srivas at Jabalpur HC on Wednesday. He is picketing in protest against transfer policy, no distribution of ACR free of cost as per guideline of Supreme Court etc. He said on August 3, he would disclose the next course of action. However, Srivas’s protest garnered much support from advocates all over the state.
According to sources close to Srivas, he will start hunger strike from August 3. He got much support from bar openly and bench clandestinely. Advocate Priyanath Pathak said, “Srivas has raised very genuine issues. Judges have to please the higher ups to get suitable postings as per their wish. Otherwise, judges have to face harassment as Srivas is facing. He had no other option but to picket.”
‘Hasn’t solicited support’
MP Judges’ Association member Dinesh Nayak said, “ADJ RK Srivas never solicited support from the association. So right now, how can association support him? Let him solicit support, then we will decide.” Nayak is former justice and member of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).
