Bhopal: Mohanty to be new CS, order soon Our staff reporter Bhopal IAS-officer of 1982 batch and chairman of Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE), SR Mohanty becoming next chief secretary is a certainty. He would be placed as officer- on-special-duty (OSD) soon. Current Chief Secretary BP Singh’s six-month extension and term will be over on December 31. Mohanty is the senior most IAS officer in the state. His seniority was overlooked by the Shivraj government which appointed Singh as Chief Secretary. Mohanty is known as result-oriented officer in the state.
Additional chief secretary Prabhanshu Kamal and Gopal Reddy too were in the fray. However, Mohanty triumphed all. Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh’s backing has made him a front-runner.Director General of Academy of Administration AP Shrivastava too could be posted as additional chief secretary, finance department. Reddy may also be given an important post in Mantralaya. Deliberations are also on to bring bureaucrats, ignored by the BJP government, into the mainstream.
