BHOPAL: High Court, on Wednesday, has granted anticipatory bail to Congress spokesman KK Mishra in connection with a defamation case filed against him by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over SS Mineral.

The Bhopal district court, on October 6, had rejected his anticipatory bail plea. The MP Nagar police had filed charge-sheet against Mishra on September 25,2016 for allegedly forging documents while alleging that a mine was allocated to CM’s kin in Balaghat district.

On June 11, 2015, Mishra held a press conference and alleged that a firm, SS Minerals, was allotted lease for manganese in Balaghat and the firm has links with the CM.

He also distributed documents like copy of khasra and others to establish his allegations.

He said the mines were allocated to SS Minerals. However, a person named Sanjay Nayak later filed a complaint at Habibganj police station that the documents used by Mishra were forged.
