Bhopal: Displaced residents from Pakistan protested against the state government for declaring their ‘custodian’ properties as ‘merger properties’ in Vidhan Sabha. Such practices created confusion in the public mind, they added.
They said they were allotted properties when they migrated from Pakistan during Partition.
Advocate Rajesh Giri, while interacting with media persons on Tuesday, said, “Just a couple of days ago, minister Narottam Mishra made an announcement regarding merger properties. He mentioned the custodian properties as merger properties. However, ex-CM Babulal Gaur took objection and then Mishra assured for verification in House. But it is not justified that government showed all the custodian properties as merger properties.”
He said, “Land of Halalpur has been shown as merger property while fact is that khasra no-80,82,83,84,85,86,87,88,89,120,/84,32,35,44,93/1,111/48 was taken over by government as custodian properties. So these properties can not be treated as merger properties.”
Advocate Giri said, “The said properties are registered in the name of Basant Ram in Custodian Department since 1956. Government act is creating confusion in the public mind. It is highly objectionable as they are residing since Independence and now the government is showing their properties as merger properties.”
