Bhopal: In a cabinet meeting on Monday, medical colleges in Chhatarpur and Seoni were okayed without budget provision. The budget for these medical colleges could not be released before assembly session and the decision of the cabinet was intended to get BJP mileage from both the districts during assembly polls.

The cabinet also decided to integrate 45,084 higher secondary, middle and primary-level schools across the state into 20,656 schools. The decision would lead to each of these schools having one principal. Public relations minister Narottam Mishra said earlier, there were different principals and staff for three different levels of schools running on one campus.

The provision of one principal would help in better control in school. Sources said the number of students in many schools was declining day-by-day. The decision to integrate schools is also being taken as a move to shut down such schools.

The approval to open School of Excellence for Eye at Indore was also given. Sanctioning on recruitment of 63,000 constables seeing shortage of Police Jawans was also given. The cabinet, amending industries promotion policy, decided to offer special package to non-operational industrial units.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, during an informal discussion in the cabinet, asked ministers to give presentations of their departments by August 10. Chouhan, according to the presentation, will put up his action plan during his speech on August 15. It is also seen as an attempt to woo people in the light of assembly polls.

Tweet competition in Congress: Mishra

Public relations minister Narottam Mishra said there was a Tweet competition in Congress. Mishra, interacting with journalists, said Congress leaders were competing with each other to send Tweets. Mishra said their government does not care what Congress was saying about it. He also said that they want certificate from people, not from the Congress.
