BHOPAL: Mayor Alok Sharma pulled up the officials at Chaupal on Monday instructing them not to forward the files on recommendations municipal committees in the name of speedy disposal of pending cases because such practices exhaust the budget of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).

He said, “As a mayor I am accountable to people of Bhopal. It is not good thing that budget exhausts without my knowledge.” Expressing annoyance, he said that contractors who don’t show interest in completion of construction work will be blacklisted. “I will have meeting with such contractors. Such contactors take tenders but do not take interest in completion if their payment is not clear. It is not justified from any angle,” he added.

Mayor also said that benefits of PM Housing Scheme cannot be extended overnight as its process takes time. “You should come after one year. Construction is on,” he told the applicants. Other people visited Chaupal with plea to control stray dogs.
