Bhopal: The MP state cooperative marketing federation on Monday launched its integrated fertiliser storage software which aims to bring around its 5000 offices and around 2 crore farmers under the digital umbrella.

Launching the software, minister for state cooperative Vishwas Sarang, said that digitalisation is the only way towards better governance and this Integrated Fertiliser Storage Software (IFSS) will go a long way in helping the consumer to get fertilizer on time. Through the IFSS the federation will issue online orders to the fertilizer company and also it will be easy for the company to get the receipt of the supplies online.

The demand and supply of the fertilizer will be on the dash board of the MARKFED and it will be easy to maintain the supply. The next step of the IFSS is to provide login facility to the farmers in which the farmer can upload its requirement and fertilizer can be provide at his door step.

Speaking about the delay in procurement of fertilizer, MD Gyneshwar Patil informed that earlier the state office used to issue orders to fertilizer companies and thereafter the companies supplied the product to district and block offices. It took months to collect data of available fertilizer and the demand, and this caused problems to the companies as well farmers who used to suffer due to delay in the supply, he added.

In past, farmers had even staged agitations over the delay in supply of fertilizer, but now the software will present the real time data at the centralised as well as at the district level. The fertilizer kept in the godowns can be monitored online and the release accordingly, Patil informed.
