BHOPAL: Due to closure of Mandis for the last three days, resentment is brewing among the farmers. The farmers are coming to Mandis to sell their Soyabean and Cotton but with traders not having cash due to demonitisation, they are being forced to return empty ended.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has called a meeting on this issue related to farmers. The farmers from Mandsaur and Ratlam, who are bringing cotton for sale, are the worst hit.

Mandi Board has also allowed traders to give account payee cheques to farmers. The Board has got post-dated cheques to some farmers for the purchase of cotton, so that some business can be transacted.
