Bhopal: Man, family booked for dowry harassment, abetment of suicide

BHOPAL: Sukhisewania police on Wednesday have registered a case against a man and his family for dowry harassment and abetment of suicide. SHO Mahendra Mishra said that Manju Vishwakarma wife of Jagdish Vishwakarma of Sukhisewania hanged herself on March 21. The police registered the case and investigated the matter.

During investigation it was found that the family was pressurising Manju into bringing Rs 2 lakh from her parents as dowry. Unable to fulfil the demand, she committed suicide. The police have registered the case under Section 304-B against husband Jagdish, his mother Choti Bai, father Dalchand and his maternal uncle. The accused are at large.
