Bhopal: The city crime branch police claimed to arrest a 22-year-old man for his alleged involvement in a case involving abduction and rape of a minor girl on Thursday near Patrakar Bhavan here.
He was absconding for about one year after a case was registered against him for his involvement in the case in Jehangirabad police station last year. He was also carrying a reward money of Rs 5,000 declared by the superintendent of police, Bhopal north.
According to police, the accused, Vishal Yadav, a resident of Kotra Sultanabad, was booked under relevant sections of IPC for abducting and raping a minor girl in 2016. After committing the crime he went absconding. The police had launched a manhunt to nab him but failed to arrest him till Wednesday.
The police had received inputs from the informers that Yadav was continuously changing his accommodation to avert arrest. On Wednesday night, police received a tip-off that he was standing near Patrakar Bhavan. The police soon rounded him up and arrested him, later to be handed over to Jehangirabad police station where he was wanted. Police are now collecting information about his criminal background if any, added police.
