Bhopal: District administration has approached army officers to know the number of cases of fake documents that had come to fore during the recently held recruitment drive. Nearly 80 cases of fake docements including caste certificates had come fore during the recently held army recruitment rally in Vidisha.
ADM Santosh Verma said, “At present, we cannot say about exact number of fake documents. We have told army officials to make the fake documents available to us, so that we would lodge FIR. We came to know about fake documents case through media. We had instructed SDMs to collect data and other evidence. We have taken the initiative after a large number of fake documents were detected during army recruitment rally being conducted in Vidisha.”
District administration had launched a campaign to digitize the manual caste certificates and other documents. As per officials, In the last 8 months, 10,000 caste certificates out of the 26,000 documents which were submitted for digitisation at Lok Seva Kendra, Collectorate, were found to be fake and it came to fore that the signature of the then SDM has been forged. Maximum fake caste certificates cases came from Huzur.
Over 12,000 people have applied for digitized caste certificates. Over 3,000 of them have been cancelled and 1500 were found to be fake. Lok Seva Kendra used to take 6 months to issue caste certificate as rules and regulation in case of Scheduled Caste Act (1950) and OBC (1984) have to be verified. But as per the new rules, administration has to issue certificates within a month.
