BHOPAL: Mahakaushal Express heading to Delhi from Jabalpur that derailed near Mahoba railway station (Uttar Pradesh), on Thursday morning, has created sensation in MP police. The intelligence and other security agencies are on high alert to check if there were any anti-national activities leading to the derailment.
A police party of intelligence department has been sent to take notes of the incident. The intelligence squad will examine if there was a hand of anti-national elements and if so, why this particular train was chosen and which agency worked behind it.
According to media reports, Uttar Pradesh ATS will also investigate the case. MP police may join in the investigations. A police party from Chhatarpur district has also reached the spot and listed the names of the injured. Earlier on March 7, three ISIS modules had planted IED pipe bomb in Bhopal-Ujjain train, which went off near Kalapipal railway station.
The ATS and local police arrested the accused in the case. All were from Lucknow. The three had told ATS and later NIA that they had planned to conduct a series of blasts in trains as well as at religious places, to create tension and communal disharmony. Mahakaushal Express had left Jabalpur on Wednesday at 6.30pm. According to the National Train Enquiry System, the train derailed at around 2.30 am on Thursday. It was scheduled to reach Nizamuddin station in Delhi at 11.40am.
