Bhopal: Rashtriya Ishai Mahasangh (RIM) has written to CM Kamal Nath expressing resentment over non celebration of Christmas at CM House this year. Cabinet expansion was held on Christmas this year. Christian body has demanded that no such programme be held on occasion of festival in letter stating that even officials have their faiths.
The issue was raised in a meeting of RIM and an office executive said that current government does not understand the sentiments of Christians. RIM has written to CM Kamal Nath to convey the resentment of Christian community for discontinuing the trend of Christmas celebrations at CM House.
RIM convener Fr Anand Mutungal said, “Earlier, Christmas was celebrated at CM House and this year, it was discontinued, which did not go down well with Christians community members. In the meeting of Mahasangh, the issue was raised prominently and it was condemned that current government of the state does not understand the sentiments of Christians. We have written a letter to CM Kamal Nath over this issue.”
Mahasangh spokesman Richards Games said, “Cabinet expansion was fixed on December 25 so that politicians of Christians community would not attend the Cabinet expansion ceremony.” District president of Mahasangh Bibit Babu said, “Government should continue the trend of celebrating all festivals.”
