Bhopal: The father of the twins killed by the kidnappers has raised the questions on the state’s police functioning. He alleged that the police had not followed the standard operating procedure ‘SOP’ while investigating the case. The father, Brijesh Rawat, was speaking to the media in Satna on Monday. He claimed that “big faces are behind the kidnapping and killing and the police should show guts to unveil the real culprits”.
He said the police knew about the ransom call, payment of the same and also some crucial facts. He also raised the issue about the police quizzing the people who are close to the family or the ones known to the family, “The police didn’t call me even once to share details of suspected people, what policing are they displaying… They did not take the case seriously,” he alleged. The twin brothers Shreyansh and Priyansh, aged around six years were murdered by their kidnappers on Sunday, even as their businessman dad paid Rs 20 lakh as ransom on February 19.
Six persons, including the mastermind, 22-year-old engineering student Padam Shukla, a resident of Janakikund-Chitrakoot (MP) have been arrested. Meanwhile, Mahatma Gandhi Vishwavidyalaya Chitrakoot has barred the six accused from entering into the varsity premises. All six are the students of the same university. Four are former students and two are undergoing their degree courses from the university.
Among the former students, the master mind Padmkant Shukla, Vikramjeet Singh, Ramkesh Yadav and Alok Singh Tomar are accused in the case. The university has suspended the accused Raju Dewedi and Aproov Yadav from the university. Raju is a second year student of MSC agriculture and Aproov is in his second semester in MSC agriculture. The university PRO, Jai Prakash, told Free Press that the authorities have also decided not to provide any degree or certificate and will not be given admission in any course run by the university.
