Bhopal: Kumeria, Deosthale in city to promote ‘Udaan’

The young T V actors Vijayendra Kumeria and Meera Deosthale were in city of lakes to promote show ‘Udaan’. The show produced by Dhaval Jayantilal Gada and Guroudev Bhalla Productions Pvt Ltd, airs every Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM on COLORS.

Addressing the media person on Friday, actor Meera Deosthale who hails from Vadodara said, “I have no background of acting. My father is engineer and first I also wanted to be engineer. Since college time I used participate in cultural activities like dance and drama. So, I had interest in acting field and decided to make career in the field only. Then I learnt acting from a Mumbai-based institute. I had also interest game and I have been a state level basketball player but it was my hobby helped me a lot. I love to dance and I want to participate dance reality show. ”

Speaking about her role, the 20-year-old actor said “Chakor is a very strong character; she has taken a stand against Kamal Narayan to free the entire village from the curse of bonded labour. She draws strength from her love for Sooraj, yet is unable to show her true feelings to him because she isn’t sure if he will reciprocate her love.”

Commenting about his character, Sooraj, and the show, Vijayendra Kumeria said, “Sooraj and Chakor’s love story has undergone many ups and downs. Although, they are deeply in love, destiny has always kept them apart.”

Kumeria further said, “For the five years, I have in acting field. Before that I have done aviation till five year. Since childhood, I had interest in acting and used to participate in cultural activities. That’s I decided to make career in acting field. If I get chance to work in film then I will do the role of Dilip Kumar especially his character in movie ‘Ram aur Shyam’. I would also like to play the role of Big B.”

Set in 1996 in the village of Azadganj, Udaan is the story of the bonded labourers of a wealthy landlord, Kamal Narayan Rajvanshi (Sai Ballal). The story features the female protagonist Chakor (Spandan Chaturvedi), who is kept as collateral (girvhi). While Chakor’s mother, Kasturi Bhuvan (Sai Deodhar), is pregnant with her, her father, Hariya, dies in an accident. Bhuvan has neither money nor a cow to donate to the Pandit for Hariya’s funeral, so Bhuvan and Kasturi go to Rajvanshis haveli and beg for money from him. Instead, his wife Tejaswini suggests that they keep the unborn child as a collateral. The couple agrees that the child can be Rajvanshi’s bonded labourer. Kasturi gives birth to a daughter, Chakor. Tejaswini allows them to take her home for seven years; then she must be brought back to Rajvanshi to serve.
