Bhopal: Chief Minister Kamal Nath, while speaking to a news channel, has claimed that at least four Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs have confided in him that they had no future with the saffron party. He added, “At least four BJP MLAs have come to me and expressed willingness to join Congress. They told me they thought there was no future for them in the BJP.”
Nath claimed that BJP was trying to poach on Congress MLAs in the state. “They are trying to poaching on our MLAs with all kinds of allurement. Five MLAs have told me,” he said.

Since the government was formed, the Congress has been alleging that the BJP is involved in horse trading. The Congress government in the state is a “minor” government, to form a stable government, the party need 116 MLAs, but the party only 114 MLAs. The four Independent MLAs, two from BSP and one MLA from Samajwadi Party have given the support to the Congress.

The fight for power was seen in the assembly house, during the election of speaker and the deputy speaker. BJP wanted to contest the election of speaker through voting, but the pro tem speaker Deepak Saxena refused the proposal and declared the name of the Congress candidate NP Prajapati. On this, the BJP created ruckus in the assembly, the pro tem speaker rescheduled the election and conducted the voting in which the Congress candidate got 120 votes.

Congress’s candidate Hina Kanwre won the deputy speaker’s election. Many of the BJP leaders, including BJP national secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, LoP Gopal Bhargava and others have stated on various occasions that the government will be toppled if the boss gives them the permission. On the other hand, Congress claims many BJP leaders are in contact with the party and that they wanted to join the Congress. The statement of the CM also supports the Congress leader’s claim that the BJP is getting defeated at every step.
