BHOPAL: Chief Minister Kamal Nath has asked the officers handling the metro project to prepare a tripartite MoU for Bhopal and Indore and soon implement it.

Nath asked them to take up a time-bound programme so that work gains momentum. Nath made the above statement at a meeting held at Mantralaya to review the progress of the metro project.

Nath said that difficulties related to land acquisition for the project, creation of parking lot and residential areas must be addressed during the implementation of the metro project.

He said that it should also include information about the financial burden on the government. Nath said timelines for construction work of different stages should be fixed and construction work should be completed within the stipulated time.

The chief minister directed the officials to prepare a report on underground and elevated sections of the project.

He asked the officers to complete all the formalities for seeking loans from the Asian Development Bank and New Development Bank for Indore Metro Project and from the European Investment Bank for Bhopal Metro Project.  The minister for urban development Jaivardhan Singh was also present at the meeting.
