BHOPAL: Political stalwarts in the state are exploring all ways to ensure ticket to their better halves to contest Lok Sabha elections. Sadhna Singh Chouhan, who is wife of former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is a contender for ticket on Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency. Praveena Bachchan, wife of home minister Bala Bachchan, is also claiming for ticket from Khargone seat.
Renuka Patwari, wife of minister Jitu Patwari is seeking ticket from Indore while Saroj Singh, wife of former minister Bhupendra Singh, is claiming ticket from Sagar Lok Sabha constituency. The followers of Chouhan, prior to his leaving for Delhi on Saturday, reached his house and demanded ticket for Sadhna Singh from Vidisha seat. Former minister Rampal Singh, interacting with media, said the people from Vidisha are demanding ticket to Sadhna Singh. He said he would also ask the leaders of party organization in this matter.
Congress leaders from Khargone have also come in support of ticket to Praveena. Praveena’s father, Somji Bhai Damor has been an MP from Dahod on seven times. Bachchan said the local leaders had put up her wife’s name for ticket. According to Bachchan, he would work with full might for the victory of any person given ticket by the party.
Contenders throng Chouhan’s place
The contenders aspiring for ticket to Lok Sabha elections reached the residence of ex-Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, before his leaving for Delhi to attend a meeting of Central Election Committee. Archana Chitnis from Khandwa, Alok Sharma from Bhopal and other leaders put their claims before Chouhan for ticket allotment.
