Bhopal: Member of Parliament (MP) Jyotiraditya Scindia did not attend a government function in his Lok Sabha constituency despite invitation. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday laid the foundation of Lovergoi irrigation project in Pichore assembly constituency of Shivpuri district. Water resources ministera Narottam Mishra and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
Scindia along with Congress MLA KP Singh were invited to attend the programme but they did not come. Scindia had recently served breach of privilege notice against the CM and Guna collector the for not inviting him in a foundation laying ceremony of roads in Guna, Later, Union minister Nitin Gadkari had to tender apology in the Lower House.
Lovergoi irrigation project
The irrigation project, costing 2200 crore, would supply water in around 343 villages of Pichore, Datia, Karera and Shivpuri areas. It is the biggest project of water supply in Shivpuri area.
More than 600 crore put Shivpuri farmer’s accounts: Chouhan
Chauhan on the occasion said since he became CM irrigated land in the state has increased from 7.5 lakh hectare to 40 lakh hectares. He said his aim is to increase it to 80 lakh hectares. He said more than 600 crore has been put in the bank accounts of farmers of Shivpuri for crop procurement. He said money to poor for pucca house will be provided in four years. He said electricity bills of 1.40 lakh people in Shivpuri have been waived off.
