Bhopal: Jaivardhan Singh assesses city’s water supply sans mayor

Bhopal: The face-off between the two parties ruling in the state government and urban bodies has again came to the fore on Tuesday following meeting held by minister of urban administration Jaiwardhan Singh The meet holds relevance as assessment of water supplies and other civic issues in the city were discussed sans Bhopal mayor Alok Sharma .

The officials of urban administration and the BMC were also present. Singh held meeting with ex-mayor and BJP member Krishna Gaur who is Govindpura MLA. Congress leader and corporator Girish Sharma was also invited in the meet along with others but mayor was not invited.

In the meet principal secretary Pramod Agrawal and commissioner of BMC Abhijeet Agrawal were also present. Mayor Sharma refrained from making any comment on the issue saying that he had all the right to convene such meets without inviting him.

He said that he is unaware about the on-goings of the meetings that Singh has held with others. In the meet, the minister asked to ensure the water connection in the overhad tanks at the medical college and Ramnagar. He also asked the officials to ensure water supply in the areas of Shankaracharya Nagar, Rohit Nagar, Sneh Nagar among others.
