No insult of Bharat Mata, hoisting of national tricolour every day
GWALIOR: Presenting his recipe for promoting patriotism in centres of higher learning, state higher education minister Jaibhan Singh Pavaiya said here on Friday that it has been decided to hoist the national flag every day on college and university campuses in the state. Also, portraits of Mahatma Gandhi, Ambedkar and Sawami Vivekananda would be installed in all the colleges. Warning the students, he said that “insult of Bharat Mata” would not be tolerated and so also anything that spreads “hatred”. Otherwise, he said, all students are free to express their views through democratic means.
The minister, a former firebrand Bajrang leader, was addressing students and teachers at the Government SMS Excellence College at a function organised to distribute smart phones and awards to winners of various competitions held during the annual function of the college.
The programme was chaired by mayor Vijay Narayan Shejwalkar. IG, Gwalior zone Anil Kumar, additional director, higher education Saroj Modi and registrar of Jiwaji University were present at the function.
He said that the state government has decided to establish one ideal college in each division. The minister said that vacant posts in excellence colleges would be filled up and their libraries would be enriched and smart classes would be arranged. The minister and other guests symbolically presented Smart Phones to 20 students of different colleges. The government has decided to provide Smart Phones to 7,362 students of the district.
Quoting the example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former president APJ Abdul Kalam Azad he said that willpower, dedication and hard work can help one achieve any objective. “No failure is final”, he said.
