BHOPAL: Annoyed over BJP’s indifference towards him, former party MLA Jeetendra Daga on Sunday joined the Congress camp in presence of Digvijaya Singh, candidate from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat. Daga, who had won 2008 assembly elections from Huzur constituency is known for his live contact with the voters of the area.
Ahead of 2018 assembly elections, BJP top leaders had assured him of ticket from Huzur, however, party chose the sitting MLA Rameshwar Sharma for the polls. The party had convinced the leader to field him in Lok Sabha elections, but once again he was ignored and the party nominated Sadhvi Pragya Thakur from Bhopal parliamentary seat.
Annoyed over the BJP decision, Daga decided to shift his loyalties towards Congress. His joining Congress camp may spell trouble for BJP as, the former party leader enjoys huge public support.
