Bhopal: With focus on generating employment, higher education department has asked all colleges not only to engage people related with armed forces in career fairs but also put up special stalls for armed force recruitment in career melas. “Career guidance cell in colleges should ensure that students in their colleges are briefed about jobs in armed forces at various levels.
Students should also be explained about the complete process of recruitment in army at various levels so that students in large numbers adopt career in armed forces,” said Anila Mitra, assistant director of Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Scheme. The letter sent to nodal colleges has asked the college administration that if there is an army office in their district then college should approach them and invite them to college for a guidance lecture. The army personnel will explain in detail about recruitment process to students and satisfy their queries.
In case there is no army establishment in ones district they can invite retired personnel. Besides armed forces paramilitary personnel from CRPF, BSF or NCC too could be invited to deliver lectures on recruitment process. The career guidance scheme has also suggested that army personnel can be invited for inaugural or concluding ceremony. The career cell has also advised to engage army personnel in a manner that they keep coming to colleges to motivate students to join army besides providing guidance on career opportunities.
