BHOPAL: A police inspector fell victim to a brawl between two high profile women in post Emerald Park locality. He paid the price for his honesty and has been shunted from Bagsewania to Bairgarh police station. His crime: He registered an FIR against wife of an Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer. However, the inspector has cited family problem as the reason for seeking the transfer.
A couple of days ago, Anita Mandal, wife of IFS officer SK Mandal had a tiff with her neighbour Shobha, 40, wife of Niraj Hathishah over ongoing construction work. In the heat of the moment she hit Shobha causing injury. Later, walked into the Bagsewnia police station in the same condition and reported the incident.
She was profusely bleeding from the head injury. Investigating officer RS Malviya lodged an FIR against Anita after proper investigation into Shobha’s complaint. Later, Malviya was transferred to Bairagarh police station. After shunting Malviya out, the police registered a counter FIR against Shobha based on Anita’s statement.
In her statement Anita alleged that she was beaten up by Shobha. Anita said that police filed FIR on the basis of complaint without verifying factual situation. Contacted, RS Malviya said, “I had some family problems. Hence, I sought transfer. As far as Emerald Park incident is concerned, I filed FIR on the basis of Shobha’s complaint. If Anita had come to the police station, her statement too would have been considered while filing the FIR. But she neither came nor approached Bagsewania police. ”
