Bhopal: In open letter to CM, Sobha Oza raises concern of women

Bhopal: Writing as a sister, Congress state media committee president Sobha Oza in an open letter addressed to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan raised the issue of rising crime against women in the state. The Congress leader questioned the failure of Chouhan in bringing down the crime graph. Ahead of Raksha-Bandhan, the CM had written to 50 lakh women of the state highlighting the works carried out by him for the betterment of the fraternity.

In her letter Oza said that CM wasted crores of the rupees in writing and dispatching letters; the amount which could have been used to give employment to some of the sisters. ‘It’s a duty of a brother to give security to his sisters, but it is for the first time that a brother like you is seeking security from the sister,” commented the Congress leader.

In her letter she stated that ‘every women of the state is having only one concern that when their daughter walks on road will she be save from the predators. Elucidating other concerns of the women, the Congress leader on their behalf questioned CM, “Will their husband remain employed? Will children get decent job after receiving good education?

‘In last 15 years during your term, 76,000 sisters and nieces have been raped and the state has been defamed for women harassment, human trafficking and child crime,” read the letter.   ‘The children of your sister are dying due to malnutrition, in the state 60,000 children are not able to see their 28th day of their life, “Oza said in her letter. Meanwhile, addressing jan ashirwad yatra in Dhar, Chief Minister lashed out at Congress saying that the opposition party is even objecting to his writing letters to his sisters.
