BHOPAL: BJP torched effigies of Congress leaders and observed dhikkar diwas all over the state on Sunday for alleged insult of Indian Air Force over air strike. In Bhopal, BJP torched effigy at Shaheed Gate, SBI Square. BJP state vice president and MLA Rameshwar Sharma said that Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has been raising finger over forces and patriotism.
Congress leaders are insulting army by demanding evidence of air strike, Sharma said, adding, “If Digvijaya Singh wants evidence, he should take citizenship of Pakistan so that he would feel comfortable when surgical strikes happen in future.”
Mayor Alok Sharma said, “Those who are congratulating Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan over release of Abhinandan Varthaman, do not have knowledge of laws.”
“Digvijaya Singh does not know that Pakistan had released 90,000 war prisoners in 1971. India also reciprocates from time to time,” she said.
In Indore, BJP burnt effigy of Congress leaders at Chawni Chowraha while in Ujjain, effigies were burnt at Shaheed Park. Similarly, effigies were also burnt in Sagar, Jabalpur, Gwalior.
