BHOPAL: Income-Tax raids on the residential and office premises of close aides of Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Sunday raised a political storm. The raids were conducted on the residential premises and offices of Nath’s political adviser RK Miglani, officer-on-special-duty (OSD) Praveen Kakkad and nephew Ratul Puri. While the BJP termed the development as a symbol of corruption, Congress said the raids were a conspiracy that was hatched by the Central Government.
National general secretary of the BJP Kailash Vijayvargiya said the black money found in the residence of the OSD of the Chief Minister showed that the Congress is a party of thieves and Rahul Gandhi is its ringleader. Ex-minister Narottam Mishra said earning of Rs 100 crore within 100 days of ruling indicated that the Congress-led government can do anything. Vice-president of the state BJP Vijesh Lunawat said that Puri and Kakkad looted crores of rupees through Augusta deal and transfers, respectively. What the Congress government has done in its 100 days has never happened earlier, said Lunawat.
Congress is a ‘party of thieves
National general secretary of the BJP Kailash Vijayvargiya said the black money found in the residence of the OSD of the Chief Minister showed that the Congress is a ‘party of thieves’ and Rahul Gandhi is ‘its ringleader’. “Black money worth crores was recovered during the Income Tax Department’s raid at the house of private secretary of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. This has made one thing clear that those who are thieves have a complaint against the watchman,” BJP’s national general secretary said.
