Bhopal: There is ample opportunities available in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal to make it a world class Institute, said the president of All India Institute of Medical Sciences Prof. Y. K. Gupta while addressing the faculties. The president made his maiden visit to the Institute on Wednesday. On this occasion director of the institute Prof. Sarman Singh, welcomed him in the presence of all faculty members & officers of the institute. Immediately after his arrival in the institute, he planted the sapling of medicinal plant along with director in the green zone situated adjacent to director’s bungalow.
During his visit, the president took round of the hospital where he was accompanied by the director. He apprised him about various patient care facilities like Cath Laboratory, Radiology, wards, OPD, IPD area. Gupta also interacted with the patients. On this occasion, Gupta inaugurated surgical oncology ward (20 beds), neurosurgery ward (12 beds), burns and plastic surgery ward (20 beds), eye bank and operation theater facility for patient care.
With this, the AIIMS Hospital is now equipped with 574 beds. Gupta took round of the campus and inspected the patient shelter room, hostels, central library and institute’s auditorium. Prof. Singh made a presentation of the isntitute’s profile. He highlighted the recent achievements of institute in of patient care, research, academics, fresh recruitments and administrative activities. He claimed that his prime target is to achieve sanctioned strength of 960 beds by mid of next year.
He claimed the recruitment of faculty members for vacant positions will be completed by March 2019. In his address Gupta expressed his confidence that the day is not far away when AIIMS Bhopal is becoming one of the finest medical Institutes of the country and people will recognise it just like AIIMS Delhi.
On this occasion, dean (academics) Dr. Arneet Arora, medical superintendent Dr. Manisha Shrivastava, deputy director (administration) Santosh Sohgaura, financial advisor comdt. P.K. Misha, superintendent engineer Jitendra Kumar Saxena, sr. administrative officer Gaurav Dwivedi, administrative officer Vishal Kumar Gupta, all hods, faculty members, officers and other employees of the institute were present.
