BHOPAL: Intense heat continued to lash Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. However cloudy weather which prevailed by the evening provided some relied. Winds coming from the Arabian Sea will keep temperatures close to normal. A trough is running from South Chhattisgarh to South India.
But, Due to westerly winds, mostly dry weather will prevail over West Madhya Pradesh. Rest parts of MP will also remain hot and dry. Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 39.9 degree Celsius which was 1.2 below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5 degree Celsius which was 2.1 below normal.
Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 39.4 degree Celsius which was 1.5 degree Celsius below normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 25.3 degree Celsius which was just above normal. As per the meteorological department, intense heat will continue in the state. It attributed the cloudy weather to moisture feeding as there is no significant system in sight.
West MP is also likely to witness hot weather with temperatures settling marginally above normal. Afternoon will turn very uneasy with warm winds and dusty conditions. Extreme north of MP may witness isolated thunderstorm activity with a warm afternoon and comfortable evening.
