Bhopal: Honouring villagers’ demand, minister Akbar orders instant setting up of police post

BHOPAL: Much to the surprise of the people present at the event, Union minister MJ Akbar and local MLA Rameshwar Sharma inaugurated a police post at Kajlikhera village instantaneously at the insistence of villagers at a ‘Gram Uday se Bharat Uday’ programme on Sunday.

Minister of state for external affairs MJ Akbar and MLA Sharma took the spontaneous decision and got erected the police post in tin shade at Kajlikhera on Sunday.

The villagers made demand from the minister and the MLA to establish a police post in their village. On this, tin sheets were brought and a temporary post with the help of wooden pillars was erected which the duo inaugurated. ASP Hitesh Choudhary said primarily the police post would be constructed, but it may be shifted to other suitable land. For the post formally two rooms would be constructed.

Earlier speaking on the occasion at Kalapan village, the minister said, “Muslims of the country should think who they wanted to fight— poverty or Hindus?” He said caste inequality should be erased from the country and PM Modi had a desire that by 2020 poverty should be eradicated.

He added development works not done in last 70 years were taking place under the current regime. The government had ended the role of the middlemen and the amount was directly transferred into the account of beneficiaries, Akbar added.

He also laid the foundation stone of Mangal Bhawan to be constructed at Kajlikhera worth Rs 40 lakh. MLA Rameshwar Sharma demanded Rs 30 lakh for the construction of boundary wall and electricity arrangements.

MLA Rameshwar Sharma informed that the government’s first priority was to provide benefits to the last man of society. He said more development works would be done in future in the area.
