Bhopal: Warning for heavy rains has been issued in Bhopal and Indore divisions in the next 24 hours. Besides them, heavy rainfall is also expected in some isolated places of Hoshangabad division. Earlier, rains continued to lash the state capital providing much needed relief from humidity, which has reached an unbearable level.
Bhanpura recorded 8cm rainfall while Nepanagar recorded 7cm and Khaknar and Khategaon recorded 6cm each in the last 24 hours. Similarly, Khilchipur, Bagli and Morena each recorded 5cm rainfall on Friday. Rain or thundershower likely to hit many places in Hoshangabad, Bhopal and Indore divisions. Ujjain, Dewas, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Agar and Guna, Ashok Nagar, Bhind, Morena, Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Chhindwara, Narsingpur, Jabalpur, Anuppur districts will also witness rains.
Madhya Pradesh had been witnessing on and off rainfall at a few places but the figure still says the state is still rain deficient. However, due to development of weather systems, rains picked up pace in last few days.
The state has been witnessing heavy rains since last three to four days. Places such as Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad and Ujjain witnessed moderate to heavy rains in the past few days. As per meteorological department, a cyclonic circulation continued to persist over South Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Vidarbha and a north-south trough is also extending from this system up to north of Kerala.
It is anticipated that the rainfall activity will continue over southern parts of the state during the next 48 hours. Places such as Hoshangabad, Indore and Bhopal will receive good rains during the time. Meanwhile, the northern parts will continue to be hot but isolated thunderstorm activities can’t be ruled out over the area.
