Bhikangaon: With all political parties busy in preparing and planning, preparations for the forthcoming civic polls are in full swing as election officer on Thursday cleared ward-wise voter list for the elections.
Administration is set to publish the list by next week. According to new electoral roll, this year as many 2,219 new voters have been added to the list across all 15 wards in the town.
In 2012, there were 9,646 and this time as many 11,865 will exercise their rights. This includes 5,998 male voters and 5,867 female voters. In terms of ward, as many 313 new voters from Ward No 13 were added into the electoral roll, followed by 306 from ward No 5, while only 26 from Ward No 9 followed by 47 from Ward No 7.
442 raised objections
During electoral roll preparation, municipal council has got as many 442 objections from public representatives. After going through this, as many 132 objections were dismissed, while 310 objections were accepted. On the basis of that, name of 159 male voters and 151 female voters were removed from the voter list, while name of 99 voters were deleted from the voter list after their death.
Assistant election officer and tehsildar Pratap Singh Agasya, municipal council chief officer Mansharam Badole, electoral branch in-charge Mal Singh Chouhan and master trainer Rajesh Tiwari were present during the preparation of final electoral roll.
