Bhopal: Handmade decorative items and apparels are drawing a large number of buyers to the Pumpuhar Craft Fair, presently underway at the historic Gauhar Mahal in the city. The fair is an annual event organised by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation.
A 15-foot high statue of Lord Nataraj is the centre of attraction at the fair. Replicas of statues of historic temples of the southern state are also available for sale. But the price may make a big hole in your pocket. And hold your breath; one of them is priced at Rs 11 lakh. For women who never tire of buying saris, a wide range of colourful Tanjore Saris are available and so are Tanjore paintings for adorning your Drawing Room. The fair will last till July 17.
