Bhopal: Delegates of railway passengers service committee (PSC) led by its chairman Ramesh Chandra Ratan inspected food stalls and other facilities at Habibganj and Bhopal railway station on Wednesday. PSC is also known as PAC (Passenger Amenities Committee). PSC member Surendra Baghat, Puja Vidhani, ex-MLA Ramesh Chandra Sharma also accompanied chairman.
The committee slapped a fine of Rs 85,000 on foods stalls vendors and food plaza management at Habibganj for not having proper records of sale and printed rates of food material. The committee slapped fine of Rs 50,000 lack of hygiene and not having proper printed rates of food packets at food stalls in Bhopal Railway station.
Food stalls vendors were warned to put their house in order and prioritise passengers’ welfare instead of only focusing on profits. Toilets, circulating areas and other facilities at both the railway stations were also inspected. DRM Sobhan Chaudhary appraised the delegation about the initiatives undertaken to monito food venders and plaza at railway platforms.
