BHOPAL: It came to the fore in the video conferencing of chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held on Wednesday that collectors in Gwalior and Shivpuri are getting point of sale (POS) machines installed at shops including liquor outlets.
This information was given by these collectors, after Chouhan leaving video conferencing, during discussion on steps taken by them with chief secretary.
The collectors during video conferencing told that they need POS machine to arrange for cashless transactions. Chouhan asked banks to arrange for POS machines.
The CM said people would be made aware and trained about cashless transaction. During campaign, arrangements for ‘Jan-Jagran, training and cashless transactions’ will be made. He asked all collectors to lead this campaign.
The campaign would result in rise in tax collection and end irregularities. Madhya Pradesh would be the leading state in the campaign launched by PM Narendra Modi. Targets in districts would be set. Chouhan asked to train students as master trainer in the campaign.
He said all government payments should be made online. Campaign to install POS machines at all shops should be launched. Awareness campaign for payment through mobile should also be launched. The availability of cash in ATM should be monitored. POS machines should be installed for fee payment in schools, payment of wages in developmental works, payment of fee for services provided by the government and also at religious and tourist places.
