Bhopal: The state government’s focus is all set to shift from its own schemes to the centrally-sponsored ones. So far, centrally-sponsored schemes were being given a short shrift in the state. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan will soon start a review of the state of implementation of various centrally-sponsored schemes being run by different departments in the state. Besides, an action plan would be drawn up for publicising these schemes.

They include Ujjawala Yojana, under which free LPG connections and stoves are provided to BPL families, Jandhan Yojana aimed at ensuring that every citizen has a bank account, Make in India, Start-up, Bhim App and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. All the departments have been asked to compile data regarding the implementation of these schemes. If it is found that the implementation of any scheme is not up to the mark, steps will be taken to give an impetus to it.

BJP president Amit Shah has told the governments of the BJP-ruled states in no uncertain terms that the implementation of the Central schemes is not being monitored properly and they are not being adequately publicised. After Shah’s admonition, the state government is going to shift its focus.

So far, most of the mega events organised by the state government were centred on its own schemes. The state has been asked to organise programmes focused on central schemes.

Beneficiaries of state schemes to be linked with Aadhar

CM Shivraj Singh has also directed that beneficiaries of all schemes being run by the state government should be linked with Aadhar. Now, the state government will link beneficiaries of its scholarship and pension schemes with Aadhar. The Centre has also directed that Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme should be implemented in all the schemes. Among other things, this year, the government has decided to provide bicycles to school-going children. Besides, onions have been purchased in huge quantities. The Central Government wants that cash should be transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries directly so that corruption can be minimized.

Collectors to be apprised of new agenda

In pursuance of Amit Shah’s instruction, the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will apprise the collectors of the government’s new agenda. Collector-SP conference is scheduled to be held on August 29 at Narmada Bhavan. In this meet, they will be asked to focus on central schemes. Hitherto, the collectors’ emphasis was on state government schemes and events related with them. Chouhan will tell them that effective execution of Modi’s schemes should be ensured at any cost.
