Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a law will be enacted to make arrangement for education of girls in the state. Chouhan was addressing the scholarship distribution programme of Ladli Shiksha Parva at the CM House here on Thursday. Scholarships were distributed to 65,000 Ladli Laxmis in the state on the day.
Chouhan said that arrangements will be made in the state for regular health checkup of the girls. He said that there are 26.30 lakh Ladli Laxmis in the state and on attaining the age of 21 years, their families will get Rs 31,000 crore. The chief minister asserted that girls can achieve great heights in life. They are the strength of Madhya Pradesh. There is 33 per cent reservation for women in police force and 50 per cent in recruitment of teachers. Similarly, women have been given 50 per cent reservations in local bodies.
Minister for woman and child development Archana Chitnis said that over 65000 Ladli Laxmis have taken admissions in grade six. Scholarships of Rs 2,000 is being provided to all girls. They will get scholarship of Rs 4,000 in grade nine and of Rs 6,000 on getting admission in grade 11. Chouhan distributed certificates of scholarship to the girls who have taken admissions in grade six.
