Bhopal: The “Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Cost and Marketing Commission” has been constituted to make recommendations regarding provision of better facilities of agricultural produce cost and marketing in state. The Commission’s tenure would be of two years. The agriculture welfare and agriculture development department will make administrative team and budget available as per requirement for the Commission. Orders related to provision of salary allowance and other facilities for the Commission Chairman and members will be issued separately.
As per state government orders issued in this connection an experienced person from the agricultural field will be nominated as Commission Chairman by the government.
Two agriculturist members with experience in the field of agriculture related work and agriculture marketing will be nominated as members. Two agriculture economists will also be nominated in the Commission. Ex-officio Commissioner Agriculture Production and Ex-officio Principal Secretary Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department will be government representatives in the Commission. Ex-officio Director Krishi Kalyan and Agriculture Development Department will be the secretaries in the Commission.
The Commission will recommend to the state government after cost accounting of Kharif, Rabi and summer crops. It will also give suggestions to the state government for market intervention rate of selected gins expected under market intervention scheme by the state government. It will study various crops from time to time as per government directives apart from giving suggestions for modernization of agriculture marketing field. Apart from this, the Commission will advise the government as per need on problems related to agriculture cost and other production related problems. Besides, the Commission will also undertake other works entrusted to it by the state government.
