The highlighted the upcoming schemes of the Government, the Governor said that some of the schemes and programmes run by previous government will be evaluated and those which have lost relevance would be discontinued. She said after installation of the new government, Madhya Pradesh is at a cusp of change.

“The government thinks it is important to work more than talking about it (kahne se jyada jaroori kaam karna hai). “Its time for change (waqt hai badlav ka) and this new culture will be reflected in the state’s functioning and its progress,” Patel stated. Speaking on state’s financial health, Governor said that in last six years the revenue has dropped significantly.

In the budget of 2018-19 the surplus revenue had turned to almost zero, she added. Citing data, Patel said in the year 2003-4 the state had debt of Rs 34,672 crore, which has increased to Rs 1,87,636 crore in the year 2018-19.
