BHOPAL: The home department has issued advisories to the districts regarding water crisis in the state but BJP state president Rakesh Singh described the development as mismanagement on the part of Congress government.
Countering the BJP, the urban development minister claimed that this practice was to maintain law and order situation in the state. The home department had issued two advisories to the SPs.
In the first advisory, it's stated that demonstrations demanding water supply are being staged in several areas and the advisory is to keep an eye on these demonstrations and to maintain law and order.
The second advisory is related to supply of water through tankers. It is issued to maintain peace while distributing water. It said people used to clash and create problems during taking water.
It further stated that at least one policeman should accompany water tanker and he should ask people to fetch water one-by-one. The BJP stated that the current situation was very unfortunate.
He alleged that to maintain uninterrupted power supply, the state government is taking help of intelligence wing while to distribute water, it is using our police force".
He further added that to give relief to people, the state ministers and chief minister should reach people. But here in the state, they are involved in their personal benefits". He said CM Kamal Nath should give resignations if he failed to control".
Urban development minister Jaivardhan Singh said; "It's the work of home department to maintain law and order situation in the state and our priority is to maintain water supply properly."
He further added: "Our intention is every citizen should get adequate water in coming days. We are going to conduct water audit soon". He further added "To provide water to every citizen of the state, the government is going to implement 'Water Right' Act till the end of this year".
