Bhopal: Teachers of government schools will not be able to teach the students in tuition classes or at coaching centres in Madhya Pradesh. Ban on such practices has been imposed by the department.
Directorate of public instruction (DPI) has issued order on Friday imposing ban on conducting tuitions and coachings. After DPI order, teachers of government schools cannot teach students in coaching centres and tuition classes.
Private tuition by government school teachers in the state has been banned by the Tripura High Court in 2015. The High Court bench had observed that if a system of private tuition by the government teachers is allowed to continue, there would be serious deterioration in maintaining the standard of education in the government schools.
Teachers should not engage themselves by way of self-employment or accepting part-time employment in private coaching. Similarly, Madras High Court had also made the same observation in 2019 against private coaching by government teachers.
