Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A government official was duped by a caller who, posing as officer on special duty (OSD) to her departmental minister, demanded money from the victim for her transfer. The complainant realised the fraud after she called the OSD.

A complaint was lodged with Habibganj police station on Saturday night. The Habibganj police said Arti Chopra is district project manager in Seoni and she received a call on May 2. The caller posed as OSD to minister of Panchayat and Rural Development Mahendra Singh Sisodia.

He told her that a transfer list is to be released and if she wishes to move elsewhere, she has to give Rs 25,000. The woman official deposited the amount in the said account.

However, when she inquired about it from OSD, she was surprised to know the truth and so was the OSD. OSD BK Shrivastav told Chopra that he never called her for any transfer.

Shrivastav then informed Habibganj police on Saturday and a case was registered in night.
