HOSHANGABAD: The students of Good Samaritans School are bringing laurels for the district in the sports arena. The students of the school performed excellently in the Indian School Olympics held at Agra from April 14 to 16. It emerged as the overall champ in the tournament.
Volleyball, football, basketball, kabaddi, chess, carom and kho-kho matches were held in the tournament. The school team emerged at the top in carom, kho-kho, volleyball and chess. This was the best performance among teams of all schools and it was declared overall champion. As many 16 players of the school, led by coach Sachin Khamparia had travelled to Agra to participate in the tournament. They included Kapil Jat, Ojas Soni, Aditya Kirar, Adarsh Gaur and others.
On their return from Agra, the team was welcomed by the students and school staff. Ashutosh Sharma, the principal of the school, the sports bodies of the city and others have congratulated the team. Around 65 players from different districts of the state had participated in the event.
