Bhopal: A fire broke out in a furniture shop located at Aishbagh stadium on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at around 7 am after which teams of fire department rushed to the area.
According to fire brigade personnel Javed, fire department teams reached the spot within five minutes after receiving information and it took our 2 hours to control the flames. Such was the intensity of fire that five fire tenders and four tankers had to battle for two hours to control it, which was also escalating in other areas and could have reached the other shops in the area.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained but the furniture worth Rs 6 lakh were gutted into it. According to sources, short circuit is seen as the cause of fire however it was not conformed if a police investigation, in the case, is on.
Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) fire officer Rameshwar Neel said that the owners have not ensured any fire security arrangements in the area.
