In a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, it was decided to approve a fund of Rs 3.36 crore for kidney transplant facility in Gandhi Medical College (GMC). With the facility of kidney transplantation, courses like DM and PG in medical and surgery would also begin. It was decided in the cabinet meeting to enhance the quantum of money for cashless treatment of journalists under health and accidental group insurance scheme from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
The accidental insurance fund, to be given in the event of death of journalist, will be Rs 10 lakh. It was also decided to cover the parents of journalists under medical aid scheme. The dependent parents, who are not government servants and their annual income from all sources including pension is not more than Rs 1 lakh per year, will be covered under family members according to the rules of ‘Madhya Pradesh Sanchar Pratinidhi Kalyan Sahayata Niyam, 2005.
The cabinet also decided to form seven new tehsils across the state. They include Devri of Raisen, Jharda of Ujjain, Bahadurpur of Ashok Nagar and Peethampur of Dhar. It was also approved to create posts for each new tehsil. The cabinet decided to give relaxation of one year (year 2018) in the service period of officers of super senior scale/ senior scale and super scale for timely promotion of officers of state administrative service (SAS). It was also approved to create 56 posts under junior pay scale of SAS and 8 posts of senior scale for 51 districts in the state.
It was decided in the cabinet to set up Horticulture College, Rahli and Agriculture College, Khurai under Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture College, Jabalpur. The cabinet decided to start admissions in both the colleges from the next session 2018-19. The cabinet permitted payment of money for transportation for storage of onion at the rate of Rs 676 per metric ton. It was also decided that the districts where 75% or more onions were found rotten or destroyed, the scrutiny charges would be treated as zero in such districts and in the remaining districts the payment of scrutiny charges would be made at the rate of Rs 60 per quintal per month.
