Bhopal: Four senior students of Gandhi Medical College have been served show cause notices on Tuesday in connection with ragging on campus. The college anti-ragging committee has prima facie found these students guilty of ragging the juniors and has handed over the case to Koh-e-Fiza police.
The four seniors involved in the ragging incidents have been identified as Krishna Pal Singh Sastiya, Atul Sonaki, Jalas Dudiya, and Yash Sawnani. As many as forty eight students of First year, housed in B-block of Hostel, had accused these students of ragging them. Earlier, juniors had lodged a complaint with anti-ragging committee against their seniors. A meeting of anti-ragging committee was convened on Tuesday which was attended by Koh-e-Fiza police station SHO Anil Vajpayee, SDM Pradeep Sharma and GMC dean Dr MC Sonagara and members of the Committee. Prima facie the senior students were found guilty of ragging juniors on the college campus.
GMC Dean Dr MC Sonagara said show cause notices have been issued to four seniors, while the case has been handed over to the police. “Realizing the gravity of the incident, the decision over action against the students will be taken. As of now the notices have been issued on the basis of the complaint made by the juniors,” he added.
SHO Koh-e-Fiza Anil Vajpayee admitted to have attended the meeting, however, said that GMC is still to give the names of the seniors involved in the ragging. “We will take action only after receiving the names in writing, we have asked the authorities to give the names of the seniors,” Vajpayee said.
