BHOPAL: The work of collection of foodgrains for the ‘Bhumi Sudhar Jan Andolan’ to be launched in 2018 for securing the land rights of the poor and the deprived sections of society has begun. The movement will be launched all over the country and at least one lakh satyagrahis will take part in it.
They will have food only once a day. If the movement continues for 10 days, around 2,500 quintals of foodgrains would be needed. The “Annadan” campaign has been launched in 10,000 villages of the state for collecting the required foodgrains. Around 2.5 lakh families would be associated with the campaign, which will continue for the next three crop cycles.
State convener Deepak Bhai, back from a tour of central Madhya Pradesh, said 110 quintals of foodgrains had been donated by families in Raisen, Sagar, Vidisha, Sehore and Betul districts so far.
