Piplani police nabbed five armed robbers while they were planning to execute a dacoity near Gopal Nagar. Valuables worth Rs 6 lakh were recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified as Vinod Raghuvanshi (22) resident of Ashok Nagar, Rohit Singh alias Badi Khujal (24), Harisingh alias Choti Khujal (19), Vinay Parte (26) and Hemant alias Golu (22), Sagar resident.
The accused have past criminal record and were involved in 13 burglaries. Vinod, a history-sheeter has been booked in 15 cases and was wanted in 6 crimes by Baghsewania police. Police have recovered two motorbikes and 6 mobile phones and gold jewelry from their possession.
Earlier acting on a tip off that armed men were planning a robbery, three teams of police were dispatched to ban them. Police swooped on an abandoned BHEL Quarters and nabbed five armed men. Two sharp-edged weapons, one mask, one torch were recovered from their possession.
During questioning, the accused confessed to have involved in other theft and loots. The accused said that they has set their target and were all set to execute dacoity later in the night. The police registered a case under Sections 399, 402 of the IPC and Section 25/27 of Arms Act.
