Manawar: Scores of agitated farmers from Jajamkhedi and Kuradakhal villages in Manawar tehsil on Sunday staged protest in front of Krishi Rath. Farmers displayed black flags and submitted memorandum to the officials who were present on the occasion.
Krishi Rath visited the villages as part of Krishi Mahotsav organised across the state under the ongoing Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan (village self governance campaign) to strengthen panchayati raj and ensure social harmony in villages.
Villagers expressed their anguish in front of officials saying instead of informing villagers about various farmer-friendly schemes being run by state government and national government, officers should change their attitude and pay attention to their duties. Villagers said that officials spend crores of rupees which are meant for farmers only.
Taking officials to task, villagers claimed that instead of transferring government aid directly into the farmer’s account, officials give bogus material to the farmers to benefit themselves, even after central and state government made it clear that financial aid should be directly transfered into the farmer’s bank account.
Officials not only overlook government’s directives, but give bogus material with the help of middle-man companies, alleged the protesting farmers. Villagers also raised slogan against government officials displaying black flags as a mark of protest.
