Bhopal: The demonstration of Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangh turned as a flop show here at TT Nagar Dussehra Maidan on Wednesday. Close to 10,000 farmers associated with the outfit were supposed to demonstrate and court arrest to press their demands.

The outfit is holding state wide protests against the government for anti farmer policies. Only around 1,500 farmers from five districts participated in the demonstration here. No rally was taken out and no situation of law and order was created. The farmers gave symbolic arrest at the ground itself and ate ‘puri-saag’ given by district administration and left the ground.

The police also took very careful step to handle the agitation, as very few cops were deputed at the ground, though several barricades around the ground and on the way to CM house were raised. Only one gate remained open for entry and exit. National convenor Shiv Kumar Sharma alias Kakaji said on August 18, the members of the Sangh would gather at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and prepare the upcoming planning regarding the farmers’ movement.

On August 15, in Dewas 25,000 farmers would court arrest, he said.

From Union government two main demands were made; first the minimum support price plus 50 per cent bonus and waiving of loans.
He alleged the government had waived off the loans of industrialists worth Rs 250 lakh crore but when it came to farmers, they refused to give relief.

He asked the CM should provide Rs 5 lakh to the injured six people in Mandsaur firing case as early as possible, as promised by him.
He alleged two farmers were vigorously beaten up by the police and they were still in hospital. “Ironically, the SDOP of the same police station is conducting the inquiry, who will never give the correct report of the incident,” he said.
